Sopranos actor James Gandolfini dies

The actor James Gandolfini - best known for his role in the Sopranos - has died at the age of 51. It's believed he suffered a heart attack while on holiday in Italy. Gandolfini won three Emmy awards for his role as Tony Soprano, he also appeared in a number of movies - including "True Romance," "Get Shorty," and "Zero Dark Thirty."

Oxfam report warns that Scotlands inequality gap is widening

Figures show the wealthiest households in Scotland are 273 times richer than the poorest. 40% of Scots who are living in poverty are IN work. A new Oxfam Scotland report says the economic model, which aims to tackle inequality and poverty, is making the problem worse and needs to change. A spokesperson for the charity says it's time for action.

William Hague will deliver a speech in Edinburgh.

He'll argue that the UK should stay together because 'we achieve more together'.

Mr Hague will also warn that an independent Scotland would mean starting again in world affairs.

Wind farm developments are 'out of control and unjustified' according to the Scottish Wild Land Group. It's calling for an Energy Commission to be set up to launch an urgent investigation into the impact of turbines. Holyrood's Health and Sport Committee has spent the last six months investigating the issue of pregnancy among the under 16s. Convener Duncan McNeill says sex education and contraception must be young people 'friendly'.

The SNP says its successes in Fife are guiding its strategy for next year's independence referendum. Scotland will go to the polls in September 2014 to decide whether to break away from the UK. Nationalist leader Alex Salmond says massive gains in the Kingdom at the 2011 Holyrood election mean voters here could lead the way for the yes campaign. And the first minister says they learned a lot from those results.
