Beautiful by design
'Beautiful By Design' began long before they realised they were a band as they would often find themselves the last ones awake at house party's, swigging on cheap cider talking about the music they grew up with, and what they felt were the important factors in making a good song. Opinions would differ but one thing they always agreed on was the fact that a good song should order the hairs on the back of your neck to stand to attention. then pierce your skin to rattle your very bones and leave you in a state of addiction. This common ground has given birth to an urgent heart on sleeve monster of a band, with sensitive lyrics cradled like a child by the strong pulsating beats and swirly melodic guitar riffs. Think 'The Killers' on 'Hot Fuss' meets 'The Cure' and you'll be thinking of 'Beautiful By Design'.

Tango in the Attic combine Vampire Weekends singalongs with Strokes-style riffing topped-off with a real emotional edge. It's all done with Fife accents and tunes to die for! The more I hear from them, the higher I rate them... 'lo-fi east-coast garage' it may be, but that sounds like a very good thing indeed!" - Vic Galloway
Crayons
As a band we don't dwindle on musical influences, more so simply letting the music come out as it may with little thought as to where any of the sounds/ideas may have came from. We all carry our own crosses from a variety of different genres and styles, and much as well as music we all keep our eyes and ears freshly peeled on the look-out for inspiration in all avenues and outlets of thought - films/books/television/smutty newspapers. ANYTHING TO BREAK ON THROUGH. The formula for our creation (and so in as much our intention) is a combination of childs hope & adolescent nihilism, brooded over with a strong feeling of discontent and desire to do more! be more! Everyone wants to be in a band and stare at the world from on top of a stage and for us it's about capturing the why and the how? Every song we write we claw our way into the mind of that boy/girl in a young band, and we regress back to the moment just before they saw music as the right thing to do. On the cusp of that commitment we're peeking at their world and trying to thin out what they see from what they think they want. Rallying forth our dissapointments into some form of expression, we can put together as many fancy words as the thesaurus will provide and depict such alluring illustrations of a band you would want to be involved in and sink your hopes in. In reality however, past the veil of these words, we're just five teenagers with instruments bent set on that idea of success we've been blinded with since birth. Nothing too extra-special besides what your ears may decide, we urge you let them make up your mind for you.

Since then they have continued to write and record new songs and have gigged every month since, 46 gigs so far and counting. If you look at their influences you can see where the sound comes from. Slurpy Gloop
Fresh back from the 80`s Slurpy Gloop now comprise of James (Grizzly) Ward (Synthesisers), Arfur Fuxsake (Synth & Computer Programming) and Fritz (Voice). Born with a desire to be different, he Slurps since their inception in the early 80`s strove to do the unique. Music was meant to disturb as well as delight, rip your guts as well as your expectations and firebomb you out of the curse of complacency. Easy listening? For sure - if you’re tired of the mainstream rock formula. The DIY ethic of the post-punk experimentalism where, for a few bob, you could create your own lo-fi electronic dream inspired the Slurps to make “I heard it in the bathtub in Ohio”. A nonsensical title for an album deliberately irrelevant for the dark, earnest angst contained therein - a message in a vinyl bottle belongs in the transcendentally shallow shell of a death-making system? Born free yet everywhere in chains, Slurpy Gloop implore us to befy the odds.. Musical influences include the Velvets, Krautrock, early Roxy & Eno, thought to be honest, you`d struggle to hear these threads as the Slurps still posses this awkward desire to be different. All styles served here - reject nothing but make it your own. These days the Slurps are beefier and bouncier. Psycho-delic electronica or electronic psych-delia? Who cares? Go and liberate your ears. Your Slurpy needs Gloop. Up the Gloop!
