More Wrong Guesses On The Word Is Out

So we’ve easily passed the £1000 mark on The Word Is Out and still it looks like no-one has even come close to giving us the right answer!



As always happens, we’ve had a few recurring wrong guesses on air. This time around the most common wrong guesses seem to be Scenery and Atmosphere with Gravity also in the running for the “Most Likely To Infuriate Regular Listeners” Award!

The Word Is Out has been on air for a few weeks now with that new audio clip; in case you missed the answer to the last clip we played with for months the answer to that was FLANNEL! So over the past few days we’ve had a whole bunch of wrong guesses, and already some duplicates. Happy New Year… now take our money!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2010. I hope you had a great time over Christmas and New Year, but now that is all over and done with for another year, let’s concentrate on giving you some free money to help you pay the January post-Christmas bills!



Way back in September 2009 we started a new clip on The Word Is Out and it’s still going strong with the prize fund now above £1600! Over the course of the game we’ve given away some clues to the answer, but in case you missed them, here’s what we’ve told you so far:



# The answer is not a fruit of any sort
# The answer is a physical item i.e. not a feeling or reaction e.g. “shock”, “surprise”, “fright”
# The answer is not an item of jewellery
# The answer was described by Ian and Diane on Kingdom Breakfast as “…the sort of present your granny might give…”
# The rumour that the answer starts with the letter “T” was never given out on air.

I’m talking, of course, about the Word Is Out, the missing word game which, as I write, has a prize fund of £1160. You can play twice on Kingdom Breakfast in the morning, at 7.15 and 9.15, and with me on Overdrive at 5.15.



Tonght’s wrong guess was the latest in a very long line of guesses so I’ve decided to give you a clue; and unlike the clue from Ian & Diane, I think it will help you get your hands on the money!

The new clip is tough

I love to give money away on the show!

Last week Barry Duffy from Leven identified our last ‘What’s That Noise?’ clip as being a Post It Note being pulled from a pad of Post It Notes and in doing so won £700!

We started a brand new clip on the show yesterday afternoon and I think it’s going to prove to be a tough one! Already we’ve had wrong guesses of A Stapler and A Retractable Tape Measure. If you think you can identify the sound make sure you register to play weekdays from 4 o’clock on 01592 757 757.

One last clue…. I recorded the sound in the studio here at Kingdom FM so it’s something within a 10 feet radius of where I sit to do the show!

This money is burning a hole in my pocket!

Have you tried your luck with ‘What’s That Noise with Kitchen Choice’ yet? We’ve passed the £500 mark and the cash could be yours…. IF you can work out exactly what is making our mystery noise.

Today Willy in Pitlessie thought the answer was a Typewriter, and through his question before his  guess, we established that the noise wasn’t coming from a Knitting Machine either!
