Everyone else is doing it…..

… so why shouldn’t I? I’m obviously taking about wishing Happy Birthday to Kingdom FM. I wasn’t sure what to get as a present so I gave them myself and you can share the present every Saturday morning from 6am. For those of you who haven’t met me or have forgotten who I am, I’m the geeky one who likes Fife Flyers, Stock Cars and winding up Raith Rovers fans. We’ll get a more in depth profile up soon but that gives you a quick idea.

Sunday was the actual anniversary of the first broadcast and to celebrate Easy Sunday was presented by one of the original voices, Kevin Brady. He indulged in what I can only call an anorak-fest with a celebration of the various jingle packages including the Kingdom song. This song, written by the late Kenny Page, was the “we live in Fife, we’re all about the Kingdom” promotion which featured lots of Fife place names and the now legendary Drumkilty. When I first started listening to Kingdom back in 1999 (it took a while for news of the station to reach Stirling) the song would be played at midnight every night  and hearing it again yesterday brought back some very happy memories.

Incidently there was cake yesterday but it was chocolate cake. Seems Craig’s message didn’t get through in time.

Where’s The Cake?

….and jelly, and ice cream and presents!?



It’s our 10th Birthday very soon and we’ve got a few special surprises lined up for you to say ‘Thank You’ for your support over the last decade. The world of radio has changed a lot since we started broadcasting on the 5th of October 1998 but thanks to you, Kingdom FM has been Fife’s first choice since day one.


I’m excited about the new games and competitions we have lined up for you over the next few weeks and months. How do you fancy a trip to Hong Kong? Well, that’s just one of the many birthday treats coming your way!Keep an eye on your letterbox too. I’m not allowed to say too much just now, but soon the words “Switch On” will make sense to you…and I’m sure you’ll like it! I’ve already said too much!!



I know that being allowed to play music and chat with you everyday is a real privilege, and if you’ll have me, I’ll be here to see Kingdom FM’s twentieth birthday!
