Fancy some help with ‘The Word Is Out’?

January 18th, 2011

The current ‘Word Is Out’ has been running since November - so maybe it’s time to help you along with a list of the wrong answers so far.

If you fancy winning lots of cash, you can play on Breakfast and Drivetime at 7.15, 9.15 and 5.15.  Good luck! Ian

It Starts One Week From Now

January 12th, 2011

I can’t believe it, but a whole year has passed since the last Wednesday Weigh In, and now we’re only one week away from it coming back!

The idea is simple: over the Christmas period we all eat and drink too much. We (and when I say “we” I mean ME!) pay the price for overindulgence with a few extra inches on the waistline and a few extra pounds showing up on the scales. I agree with you, it’s incredibly unfair, but these are the facts! So, a couple of years ago Barry Snedden and I decided that the motivation we needed to have a sensible diet was weekly humiliation on air; and so the Wednesday Weigh In was born.

Every Wednesday evening after 6pm we’ll bring you a live weigh in from our studios in Markinch (and also from a different continent… but that’s a story that Barry Snedden can tell you more about!) and let you know if our weight loss is actually happening. Something new for 2011 though, is the fact that you and three of your friends, family or colleagues can take part in the weight loss challenge too. There’s even a few prizes on offer for the team with the ‘biggest losers’! You can find out more here - but registrations close on the 18th of January so you’ll have to be quick.

Even if you’re not free to listen on Wednesday evening, Ali McLaren will keep you up to date with the Team’s progress, and his own, on Saturday afternoon on the Wednesday Weigh In At The Weekend.

Happy 2011

January 6th, 2011

A very Happy New Year and hope your Christmas was good?? If not, at least it’s all over! I am certainly facing the new year with a fresh, positive (and healthy!) attitude after lurgy struck me just before the festive period, and took my husky tones to a new dimention!! (am a bit sad i might just sound like normal husky Nomes by my return to Nightfever tomorrow!) Poor Ian managed to somehow dodged all the germs that were rife in Kingdom FM and chauffeur me into breakfast every day while i was covering for Diane- i actually couldn’t have been in better hands and it was so lovely to speak to you and get some of your tips on how to get my voice back … well now it’s back and it’s YOUR fault!!!

So because i was a bit out of it i forgot to mention that the film i was in last year only won 3 awards last month in HOLLYWOOD!! The film had been doing the rounds of film festivals round the world and the the two, lucky, main young actors got to go to Hollywood on 16th Dec to the ceremony. It’s an impressive achievment for the teenagers involved who had never acted before and i can only see it as an amazing film for me to have been part of, for my very first film experience. Well done & thanks to all involved. Now looking for my next venture and perhaps to be in Hollywood myself soon to get me one of those other well known awards!!

Sooo looking forward to speaking to you tomorrow night for 1st Friday Nightfever. Naomi xxx

Happy New Year, Here’s Some Free Money!

January 4th, 2011

Happy New Year! Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year. Now we’re all (almost) back to normal, let’s concentrate on helping you pay for the festivities ahead of the credit card bills dropping through your letterbox!

The Word Is Out has, at the time of writing, reached an impressive amount - £920! That’s a whole bunch of free money so why not register to play the game live on air? You can register for either (or both!) of the rounds on Kingdom Breakfast with Ian & Diane weekdays mornings from 7am and then again from 9am. If you’re not a morning person, and I certainly know how that feels, then why not register to play the game with me every afternoon from 5pm. The game is played just 15 minutes after registration opens so you don’t have to wait too long to see if you’ll be getting the call back to play the game live on air!

We’ve had loads of wrong guesses so far, but remember that the correct answer is only one word! Here’s a list of some wrong guesses to get you started:
