Inspirational Songs

Regular readers/listeners will be aware that I enjoy running the odd 10K or two. This year as an additional challenge I’m going to do a half marathon and I’m expecting to take just over 2 hours to do it. Now that’s a long time to run without a distraction. On a 10K I’ll happily enjoy the banter and watch the world go by but I can’t sustain that for double the distance. Additionally I’m going to need some inspiration to help drive me onwards when I feel like I can’t continue and bailing out seems like the best option.

Someone has suggested listening to music as I go round which is something I’m going to try but I need your suggestions of what I should put on my generic MP3 player. What music drives you onwards, what songs distract you when you most need distracting?

Another Kingdom FM Presenter features in a film

Kingdom FM’s Stuart Smith is famous for lots of things but I didn’t know he had been featured in a film. 

Which film? 

Well if over the last couple of months you managed to see UP 3D then you may have seen Stuarts 1st on screen appearance.  Take a look at the pictures and see if you can work out which is the real Stuart and which is Russell?

This weight loss is getting harder but were near the end!

Well as you will know my weight loss has turned to weight gain as I put on 1lb last week which isn’t good.  This week isn’t looking much better either.  I have just eaten some home made chocolate brownies.  They tasted fantastic but my theory is that if it tastes good then its probably bad for you.

I have decided I need to make a final push to reach the 1 stone I hoped to loose.  Its time to cut out the chocolate, crisps, fizzy juice and takeaways, and go back to the healthy diet - 3 meals a day with  a healthy snack in between.

 I have also decided to join a walking group.  I am due to do my first one by the end of this week so I will let you know how I get on.
