That Friday Feeling!

January 30th, 2009

Kevin and Hob Nob

Well it’s been a long week so I’m glad it Friday! Plus of course we have our Second Chance Kennels feature on my show with Ena Conyon on Friday so that was a lot of fun. She brought in four month old Hob Nob who had been found hiding aunder a car and was coaxed out with a hob nob biscuit hence his name. He’s been through the mill recently with operations on fractures on both his back legs and a broken front leg. Because the front leg had been left for a while it’s healed a little bit squint but it makes him even more lovable. He’s got a really cute face and a sweet nature and would make a great companion if you’re looking to take on a dog. Check the site www.secondchancekennels.org if you’d like to enquire about him or look at the other dogs they have rehoming.

Well Friday is curry night so looking forward to a visit to Saffron in Dunfermline for some delicious food Indian food tonight. Tomorrow I’m off to Glasgow to catch up with my mate Joe for lunch. It’s my adopted home after spending about twenty years there. That reminds me What do you call a Glasgow girl in a white track suit?……..The Bride! Two Glasgow neds in a car with no music, who’s driving?…..The police!

Second Chance Kennels

January 21st, 2009

Oh it’s a tough life at Kingdom FM playing music on the radio and talking about one of my favourite subjects….dogs! On Friday around 11.15am on my show I’m joined by Ena Conyon from Second Chance Kennels in Thornton who’ll be letting us know about the dogs currently available for adopting. Of course taking on a dog is a big commitment if it’s something you’re considering right now tune in or log on to www.secondchancekennels.org for more information and pics of the dogs!

I hadn’t been to the cinema for ages but did catch Slumdog Millionaire at the Odeon the other night. I’d seen plenty of hype and PR about and I’ve got to say it was all well deserved it’s an excellent movie….get along and see it!

What a week!

May 19th, 2008

Well last week was a mad week at the radio station. Marie-Clair’s baby boy Leo arriving a month early, and I’m happy to say mother and baby are both doing very well! It was fun covering for MC on her show and it felt just like old times.

Barry has also been off for a little while too… so us presenters have been thin on the ground! You don’t fancy doing a show at the station do you? If you do get in touch with Darren his details are on his page.

Looking forward to dinner at Tiger Tiger in Glasgow tomorrow night it’s one of those restaurants I’ve always wanted to try but hadn’t quite got around to! And of Thursday I’m being a luvvie with a night at the theatre, and this time it’s the Traverse in Edinburgh to see Nova Scotia, thanks to CCW for inviting me.

See you on Saturday breakfast this week ( It does knock the hell out of my curry night on Fridays! ) Really pleased we had Saffron Indian Restaurant in Dunfermline as our Restaurant of the Week last week. It’s my local indian, really small place, only about nine tables but the food is fantastic and the staff are great too. And…all throught the summer they have 25% off their menu…give it a try if your in Dunfermline!

I hope you had a good Easter. I really enjoyed covering for Darren on Easter Sunday on his new show Easy Sunday 10am to 1pm. If you haven’t caught it yet try it this weekend, plenty of soft songs to listen to whilst you eat your bacon rolls and sift through the Sunday papers. Just on music there seems to be a famine of great new songs right now. We always reckon this happens in the music industry every few months. I do love Gabriella Cilmi’s new song though, Sweet About Me, think about a cross between Duffy and Winehouse and you can almost here it! She’s originally from Australia but has lived in the UK since she was signed to Island records when she was thirteen! She’s now sixteen and sounds amazing. She shares a manager with the Sugababes……damn I knew I should have gone to thier gig at the Playhouse recently. We’re playing it loads so listen out for it .gabriella17_shot-8-270-copy.jpg
