It’s the Friday Funny!

October 15th, 2010

We had a busy show today and the jokes were just flying in and were of a very high calibre!  We had to narrow them down to a final three which wasn’t easy.  June Holland’s came up with a good one. What do you call a snake with no clothes? -  Snaked!   but Lorraine in Kirkcaldy came up with the winning joke - How do you know when your cheese isn’t your cheese?  It’s nacho cheese!

We hope these have helped put you in the mood for the weekend.  Have a good one!

Lots of love Ian and Diane xxx

Happy 70th birthday Cliff!

October 14th, 2010

Cliff Richard is 70 today and to celebrate each of his years,  we promised that if seventy Cliff Richard fans called or texted and said “We’re crazy for Cliff”,  we would play Cliff for you at the end of the show.  A lot of you were desparate to hear him on the airwaves and got in touch but sadly, and not surprisingly, we did not reach the target so we were spared!!

Don’t forget that it’s the Friday Funny tomorrow so don’t forget to text or phone us with the best joke you’ve heard this week.

Love and kisses, Ian and Diane xxx

Anyone want Ian’s smelly shoes?

October 13th, 2010

Ian has been having a problem with his shoes lately.  He just doesn’t know how to recycle them!  Wendy called in to say that St Pauls School will take them and if they’re not  sold, they could be used and made into matresses.  Hopefully, someone is going to come and collect them with a nose peg!

There was a story in the papers today about David Beckham paying 0ne hundred dollars for a sandwich which included foie grass.  That boy has more money than sense.  Ian and I were both at a function and had foie grass.  Never again!  I was sick and Ian had a very upset stomach!

If you’re looking for quality dining then don’t forget that it’s ”A Taste of Fife” tomorrow. For just £25, you can double your money.  This week’s restaurant is The Clubhouse in Dalgety Bay.  Don’t forget to grab a bargain from 8am tomorrow morning.  Just log onto kingdomfm.co.uk and click on ”A Taste of Fife”.

Love and kisses, Diane and Ian xx

Are you a big screamer?

October 12th, 2010

We were taking about Mick Hucknall on the Kingdom Pop Puzzler today and we ended up debating as to whether Mick was the ugliest pop singer ever!  Rab phoned to suggest Ken Dodd and  Yvonne called in to say that Shane McGowan from the Pogues had to be the ugliest of all time.  I met him a few months ago in a bar and I have to say he wasn’t a pretty picture!

A survey by the London School of Economics has revealed that Tuesday is the most miserable day of the week and we were looking for something positive to say about the day.  Alison the taxi driver said that Tuesday was a good day as it was only three days away from Friday.  It’s apparently a good day to get bargains so I’m heading straight to the shops today!

It’s also global scream day today.  We’re apparently meant to let out a loud scream at 12noon today.  I’ll be back in my bed by then so don’t scream too loud!

We’ll be back on your airwaves from 6am tomorrow.  Please do join us.

Love and kisses,  Ian and Diane xx

Stuff your face with chocolate!

October 11th, 2010

It’s National Chocolate Week so Ian and I celebrated by eating our favourite chocolate and remembering the ones they don’t make anymore like aztec and banjo chocolate bars.  They’re even selling chocolate flavoured scorpions at Harvey Nicols and they seem to be going down a treat!

Mo Lester was back on the airwaves again.   She had stayed in all weekend to review X Factor and Stictly Come Dancing for us and seemed to think the judges had made the right decision on both shows.  Goldie was not a good dancer and Katie had the edge over XYD.  She’ll be reviewing for us every week until the final so don’t forget to listen every Monday at around 940am and let us know what you think.

We’ll be back tomorrow morning from 6am.  Don’t be late!

Love and kisses,  Ian and Diane xxx

It’s our 2nd anniversary!

October 6th, 2010

Today, we celebrated our 2nd anniversary with a game of ”Mr and Mrs”.  JC,  Head of News, asked us 5 questions each and I’m delighted to say that I won!

Also, on the show, we learned that scottish women are more likely to fancy hairy men and a quarter of us admit that we now go for men with beards and,  apparently,  couples start to mimic each other’s phrases when they’ve been together a long time.  Fortunately, I haven’t picked up Ian’s favourite phrase, “Hello Sausage!”

Don’t forget to tune in for a “Taste of Fife” tomorrow morning at 8am.

We’ll be waiting from 6am tomorrow morning.  Love and kisses, Ian and Diane xx

Happy Birthday to us!

October 5th, 2010

Today is out12th birthday, and being, International Poetry Challenge Day, we asked you to come up with a poem to celebrate our milestone.  Thanks for all your kind words and well done to Kerry who read her winning poem out on air and moved us to tears (well, Ian anyway!)

It’s Tyre Safety Month,  so on the way to the studio, Ian stopped off to pump his up his tyres.  He popped in his 20p but could not work out thether he had deflated or inflated them!  He felt very short-changed but thanks to you, he now knows where to pump up for free after many of you texted in.

Don’t forget to tune in tomorrow for another special day.  Can you guess what it is?

We”ll be waiting from 6am tomorrow morning!  Love and kisses, Ian and Diane xx

Happy World Animal Day!

October 4th, 2010

Today, we celebrated World Animal Day.  Ian found a great website which decided which animal you would be - http://www.selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php?client=WhatAnimalRU  It turned out that he would be a horse and naturally, I was an elephant!

We had great fun today as we played bingo on our fabulous big bingo machine with Gala Bingo in Glenrothes.  Well done to Brenda McKay from Freuchie who won £100 to spend at Gala Bingo.  We’ll give you another chance to play tomorrow.

Tune in from 6am tomorrow morning for more fun and frolics.

Love and kisses, Diane and Ian xxx

“Wey Hey. It’s Friday!”

October 1st, 2010

A new poll out today said that the teleporter in Star Treck has been voted the best gadget ever but a lot of you disagreed and couldn’t believe that the tardis from Doctor Who wasn’t top of the list.

There’s over £82 million pounds to be won on the Euro millions tonight.  Camelot put together a photokit of all the faces that had won and  and apparently, you have more of a chance if you’re a man and have short grey hair and blue eyes.  If you’re a woman,  you should be lucky if you have dark shoulder length hair and brown eyes.  Good luck!

Thank you for all your Friday funnies that you phoned and texted in.  They were of a very high calibre but the winner today was  Christy from Glenrothes with

What did Robin say to Batman when his dinner was ready?  Dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, Batman!”

Hope you all have a fab weekend and we look forward to your company on Monday.  Love and kisses, Ian and Diane  xxx

Yabadabadoo!

September 30th, 2010

Today we discussed sibling rivalry as David Milliband has decided not to join his brother, Ed in the shadow cabinet.  David Reid, our morning news editor,  confessed that he had held down his brother and squirted cream into his mouth, knowing that he had a severe allergy to dairy products!  It’s always the quiet ones you have to have watch!

We also celebrated 50 years of the Flinstones.  It was one of Ian’s favourite programmes  and we had to endure his “yabadabadoos” all morning!

Don’t forget to text or phone with your Friday Funny tomorrow.  We look forward to hearing your jokes and having a good laugh to get us in the mood for the weekend.

See you tomorrow from 6am.  Love and kisses, Diane and Ian xx
