SEStran Two Capitals Cycle Ride (Update)

April 25th, 2011

So the countdown has begun. 54 Days to go until The SEStran two Capitals cycle ride.

Here is my progress so far:

We I now have a bike which I suppose is the most important thing that you would need so I am half way there.

I have also indulged myself by purchasing some new gadgets for the bike, including a holder for my iPhone, a new HD Video Camera to film my cycle and also a wireless headset for music and also so I can make phone calls too.

I thought with my level of physical fitness I should maybe get in some training. So far I have managed a staggering 5 miles on my bike and I felt like I would never walk again.

I will be out and about this week and I will update you on how I get on.

Remember it’s not too late to register for the cycle. Just visit www.twocapitals.org/

Speak to you all soon

SEStran 2 Capitals Cycle Ride

April 8th, 2011

Ian, Darren, Ali and I have signed up for the SEStran 2 Capitals Cycle Ride which will see us cycle from Pittencreif Park, Dunfermline to Ocean Terminal, Leith. I am starting to think this maybe wasn’t the best of idea’s I have ever had, however I have said I am taking part so I feel I now have made a commitment.

If you haven’t heard about the 2 Capitals Cycle Ride it is a non-competitive, all-age, all-abilities event that aims to promote cycling for all. The only think stopping me now is the fact that I don’t have a bike and I am extremely unfit. So it’s not looking good. Even the children will come in before me.

If over the coming weeks you see a small fat man at the side of the road with a bike trying to get his breath it is probably me trying out the new bike I plan to buy on Thursday. Please stop and give me some encouragement.

Balbirnie Bob

December 1st, 2010

What do you mean you don’t know who Balbirnie Bob is.  He is the now world famous snowman from Markinch.  He has been seen reading the paper, playing basket ball, earlier on in the week he had a machine gun and now he has an arm chair and coffee table.

And to top it all off he now has added himself to facebook.  Yes I know what your thinking a facebook page???  Someone must have given him an iPhone and he is updating from Markinch.

If you want Balbirnie Bob to be your friend just search for him on Facebook.

The last I heard from him was that it was snowing again in Markinch and he wasn’t best pleased about it.  I will have to try and get him some Kingodm FM goodies tomorrow.

I hope Bob has a good sleep in his arm chair.

Flu Remedies - (I DO NOT HAVE MAN FLU)

September 18th, 2010

On Saturday Night I felt a little ill with the flu.  I must stress this was not the man flu as a lot of FEMALE callers and texters suggested.

Arron in Dunfermline suggested warm hunny and lemon juice.  The lemon juice to kill the germs and the hunny to coat my throat to stop me sounding like Darth Vader.

Bil in Auchtermuchty recommended 2 bottle of alcohol and 6 meters of rope.  Firstly drink the 2 bottles of alcohol, the tie myself into bed with the rope so I don’t fall out of bed.  It wont help cure my flue but it will make me feel better till I sober up.

Also Heather in Cupar suggested using alcohol as well so I might give it a go when I get home while I watch Casualty in bed.

Fingers crossed I am feeling better for Monday as I am on air all week for Barry Snedden, so I will see you next week at 7pm.
